In 1994 MAXI-RAIL® was successfully tested according to EN 1317-2 (TB11 and TB 81) by the German Road Research Institute 'BASt'. The test results were trend setting.
The vehicles (car and truck) were safely retained by MAXI-RAIL®.

The system showed a good redirection and controlled deceleration of the vehicles.
It is strong enough to resist the enormous impact energy of a truck. At the same time the deformability of MAXI-RAIL® provides safe conditions for the occupants of cars.

The deceleration of the occupants during the impact is within the tolerated level (ASI = 1.13). It has to be pointed out that the truck only showed very small damages and it was still fit for driving after the test.
Due to the segment construction of MAXI-RAIL®, the damaged system can be repaired easily and fast under cost-effective conditions.
