EASY-RAIL Product Family

In Germany the application of guardrail systems is regulated by standards such as the RAL-RG 620 or the TL-SP 99. Among the standard systems the single guardrail (abbr.: ESP) as well as the single spaced guardrail (abbr.: EDSP) have been known and approved for decades. In order to achieve a higher containment capacity with a preferably simple system, VOLKMANN & ROSSBACH has developed the product EASY-RAIL. The improvements of EASY-RAIL are shown in the table below, in direct comparison to traditional systems:

Deformation Behaviour
So far, the common support bracket of the ESP systems used to position the beam vertically. The newly developed support bracket of EASY-RAIL bends the beam slightly downwards. Thus, during an impact of a vehicle, the beam is slightly lifted up which positively influences the containment capacity.

Optimized Material
Another important feature of EASY-RAIL is the use of a new steel quality. Since EASY-RAIL is intended for both, a smooth redirection of trucks up to 10 tons and a smaller deflection of the system itself (reduction of the working width!), the characteristics of the commonly used steel quality (S 235 JR) turned out to be insufficient.



Optimized Working Width
In order to optimize the working width, the commonly used sigma post is replaced by a C 100 post which has been designed according to the driving direction and the direction of the impact in case of an accident.



EASY-RAIL Product Family
With the system EASY-RAIL VR has created the basis for a new family of barriers that promises a maximum of safety at minimal weight and which guarantees a simple and fast installation. Further members of the EASY-RAIL family will be presented soon.
